Companies often cannot afford buying new equipment. Purchase of a car directly from the showroom or a machine that has just left the factory line is the most often impossible if we cannot obtain a credit or leasing for these objects. However, there is always a solution. Apart from looking for second-hand objects in various portals and Internet exchanges, it is good to remember about the possibility to buy movables at bailiff auctions. Is such option profitable? Auctions certainly create the chances for purchase of equipment at an affordable price. It is obvious that it is second-hand equipment but some really good objects may be found.
But where to get information on the organised auctions from? Of course from the Internet, like in case of everything in our times. From the websites of the National Council of Judicial Officers (komornik.pl), Tax Offices and debt collectors (kupodkomornika.pl). The most important for the entrepreneurs is the fact that the company which wants to participate in the auction does not have to fulfil any special criteria – it must solely have a proper amount. The only expenditure incurred before the auction is a prepayment in the amount of 10 % of the starting price of the object, the auction of which we join. In case of a loss, this amount is returned to us and thus the company does not risk anything. On the other hand, at the moment of winning, the amount up to PLN 500.00 must be paid immediately after completion of the auction and in case of a higher amount – 20% of the value but not less than PLN 500.00. The entire transaction must be paid for by 12:00 noon on the next day.
A lot of entrepreneurs are afraid that purchase of e.g. a car from the bailiff may entail some legal complications. Often the question whether there will not be any problems with the registration arises. Absolutely not – purchase of equipment at an auction is treated as primary purchase, i.e. without any defects and encumbrances. Therefore, if the company decides to buy a car at an auction, the Transport Department may not refuse to register the vehicle even in case of lack of the vehicle history card and registration certificate.
While purchasing equipment at a bailiff auction, we must be careful and we must take into account the possibility of incurring of additional costs if the device turns out to be not in the working order and requires a repair. Therefore, it is worth inspecting it earlier, especially that usually there is such a possibility, still before the auction. Later, no complaints will be accepted – this is something that the entrepreneur should necessarily remember. It is obvious that it is hard to expect that every time when we need a car or a machine for the company, there will be a great deal at a bailiff action, but it is always worth checking whether something that we need right now has not been put on auction.
