A lot of entrepreneurs must fight for their receivables with the help of debt collection or courts. For sure, they often wonder what the debtors do with their money. There are really a lot of ideas for hiding of the property against its seizure by the debt collector. It is known the best by the persons who encounter various situations on an everyday basis, often the ones that make them smile.
Experienced debt collectors are not surprised to find valuable objects and devices in surprising places. It may be as well the RTV equipment or hardware hidden in the fridge or under the quilt in the bed. Unfortunately, the property examination process sometimes lasts long and often resembles the popular kindergarten hide-and-seek game. The debtors demonstrate original creativity, engagement and obstinacy in striving for deception of the ‘opponent’ – the business partner, the debt collector or the bailiff. Some people exaggerate much in responses, like for example in the situation of destruction of important company documentation, which certainly exposes them to criminal liability.
The fight for recovery of own receivables is not easy and this is why it is worth using the assistance of specialists. The debt collectors know the tricks of the debtors and thanks to the possessed predispositions to performance of this profession they can act extremely effectively.
As it turns out, apart from hiding of the property, there are some situations, in which the debtors themselves try to hide themselves. A wardrobe or a cabinet will be an ideal place for that. Therefore, it is worth conducting the debt collection activities in such a way as to surprise the debtor and prevent them from preparation of the disguise. Nevertheless, the best moment for the search of the flat depends on the specific person. Some people may be prepared for the visit in the morning or in the evening while others may be on standby all the time.
However, we should remember that on one hand, the surprise element is important but on the other hand, there is a legal regulation that permits work of the debt collector from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. In order to take actions outside this time range, the court consent is needed.
In some cases, it is necessary to seizure the property of the debtor for the return of the receivables to the creditor to be possible. It is the main reason for irrational behaviour of a lot of debtors. An experienced debt collector is aware of it, so they are able to anticipate it with great probability and know where it is the best to look for the hidden goods.
